How self-priming pumps work?
Self-priming pumps have the necessary starting fluid in the chamber or body. They create a partial vacuum to absorb water to avoid mixing of air and water. They combine air and water during priming to push air up and water down. The airless water is then drawn back to the turbine by gravity and mixed with the remaining air in the suction line.
The above process is repeated until all the air is sucked out and a vacuum is created in the suction line. After these processes, atmospheric pressure pushes the water through the suction line and towards the impeller, pumping begins.
